Charles River Analytics is proud to announce it is a Demonstration Patron of the 2016 IEEE International Multi-Disciplinary Conference on Cognitive Methods in Situation Awareness and Decision Support (CogSIMA). Charles River is a multi-year sponsor of the conference, which aims to bring together those in academia, industry, and the military to develop an interdisciplinary approach to situation awareness and decision-support systems. This year’s conference took place from March 20-25, 2016, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego, CA. The keynote address was given by Dr. Greg Zacharias, Chief Scientist of the US Air Force and former President of Charles River Analytics.

Charles River’s staff served in various capacities at CogSIMA. Dr. Michael Jenkins was the Patrons Program Chair and Mr. David Young was the Onsite Patrons Program Chair. Mr. Young also chaired the poster session. Ms. Paula Jacobs, Software Engineer, was the webmaster for the conference.

Charles River presented findings from recent projects during sessions. Mr. Young presented BARRACUDA: An Augmented Reality Display for Increased Motorcyclist En Route Hazard Awareness. Ms. Jennifer Danczyk presented a poster on Providing Distributed Situation Awareness to Human and Canine Tracking Teams. Mr. Keith Gale of the National Ski Patrol discussed a project he is partnering on with Charles River: Enhancing Hazard Awareness with a Mobile Application for High Risk, High Consequence Avalanche Terrain Decisions.
