The U.S. Air Force recently featured the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) in an article on its Web site entitled “Wise advisers help Air Force leaders navigate science.” The SAB was founded in 1944 to bring together leading scientific minds to advise senior Air Force leaders on how they can best lead the way in technological innovation. Today, the SAB consists of 52 scientists and engineers who are experts in their fields and who come from a broad range of organizations in industry, academia, and the national labs.
Dr. Greg Zacharias, President and Senior Principal Scientist at Charles River Analytics, is serving on the SAB in a variety of capacities, most recently as co-chair of a Virtual Training Technologies Task Force, and earlier as a member of two panels exploring the implications and consequences of cyber warfare. In 2005, Dr. Zacharias received the US Air Force’s Meritorious Civilian Service Award at the SAB awards banquet in Washington, DC, for his contributions while serving on the board from 2001 to 2005.
