Scientists from Charles River Analytics presented a paper at the 2005 Society for Information Display (SID) International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition that took place in Boston, MA on June 2, 2005. The conference is an international gathering of the members of the Society for Information Display (SID).
Jonathan Pfautz and Adam Fouse presented a paper on Charles River Analytics’ NASA-sponsored work on supporting the decision-making of wildfire managers. The paper is entitled Supporting Reasoning about Cultural and Organizational Influences in an Intelligence Analysis Decision Aid.
About Dr. Pfautz: Dr. Jonathan D. Pfautz is a Senior Scientist at Charles River Analytics and a Research Affiliate at M.I.T.’s Research Lab of Electronics. Dr. Pfautz’s major research interests are focused on visualization and interface system design and engineering and the role of information qualifiers in human decision-making. He is also interested in human visual perception, virtual environment and simulator technology, cognitive modeling, and social network analysis. He is a primary contributor to a current effort to develop an innovative display system for smart sensor web systems. Dr. Pfautz is also currently working on a project to develop an integrative visualization system for use in a SASO environment. He recently finished the development of a prototype system for incorporating meta-information visualization in training spatio-temporal reasoning and wayfinding skills.
