Assessing Trainee Readiness for Highly Demanding Jobs

Bracken, B.

Industrial Management (March/April 2020)

An ongoing challenge facing trainers, trainees and future employers is determining when a student is ready to move on and take on responsibilities in a profession where performance really matters. To bring this insight into assessments of trainee readiness for the job, a new technology has been developed to measure trainees’ individual readiness relative to established personal performance criteria. With this technology, systems developers, trainers, students and future employers can all be more confident that the process of measuring cognitive workload yields individuals who are job ready and can perform under demanding conditions.
