Charles River Analytics, a developer of cutting-edge technologies for intelligent systems, was highlighted in Mass High Tech’s Patent Watch on April 28, 2010, for its innovative developments in social network analysis. In an article entitled, “From Passwords to Analytics, Software Makes Life Easier,” Charles River’s patent application for Sensor Based Monitoring of Social Networks is described.
“This technology represents a truly revolutionary capability for social network analysis,” explained Michael Farry, Senior Scientist at Charles River. “Automated techniques to mine communications data have been implemented before, but they all rely on cumbersome hardware. Our system relies on sensors that, in five years’ time, will be miniaturized to the level of ‘smart dust.'”
Patent applicants are Mr. Michael Farry, Senior Scientist at Charles River; Dr. Jonathan Pfautz, Vice President – Cognitive Systems at Charles River; and Dr. Samuel Madden, Associate Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The patent application number is US 20100023300, submitted January 28, 2010.
