Dr. Amy Sliva, a scientist at Charles River Analytics, presented research on a big data methodology for political science at the American Political Science Association (APSA) 2014 Annual Meeting, which took place in Washington, DC, from August 28-31, 2014. The presentation was featured on a panel entitled Information Technologies in Politics and Political Science, which was jointly sponsored by the Qualitative & Multi-Method Research and the Information Technology & Politics research sections.
During her talk, A Big Data Methodology for Bridging Quantitative and Qualitative Political Science Research, Dr. Sliva presented the Model Analyst’s Toolkit (MAT). MAT is a software application for analyzing and validating scientific theories and models using real-world data, particularly those models of phenomena that happen over time.
