Charles River Analytics, a developer of cutting-edge technologies for intelligent systems, was invited to present its research on situation awareness for warfighters at the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement’s (IDGA) 2nd Annual Command and Control Summit. The summit took place in Arlington, Virginia, from June 28-30, 2010.
Dr. Peter Weyhrauch, Senior Scientist, and Dr. Scott Neal Reilly, Vice President, Decision Management, presented the session, “Providing Situation Awareness through Intelligent, Warfighter-centric Information Systems,” to describe the issues, technologies, and solutions for improved situation awareness for decision making and command and control. The Charles River team discussed a number of tools and techniques to improve situation awareness for the warfighter through human-centric information systems, including knowledge-based image and video interpretation and analysis, intelligent semantic indexing and retrieval, innovative data fusion, and intuitive interface designs.
Dr. Weyhrauch said, “We were delighted to be invited to the summit to present an overview of the operational and technical requirements of providing accurate and actionable situation awareness to our warfighters, and our ongoing projects and mature solutions to address those requirements. The summit was an excellent opportunity to share our expertise in understanding the needs of the warfighters, and developing technology and systems to address those needs.”
