Charles River recently assisted in the delivery and installation of the Maritime Intelligent Decision Aiding System (MIDAS) for Enhancing Tactical Mine Countermeasures (MCM) in Ft. Monmouth, NJ.
This is the same system that we demonstrated at the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Federated Lab’s 5th Annual Symposium in March. We delivered the software to the Command and Control Directorate (C2D) of the Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) and worked with Rockwell personnel to make further enhancements to the system and update the integration with the Integrated Displays Test bed software (IDTV2). The integration with IDTV2 allows users to control Charles River’s FOX Course of Action (COA) generation and assessment software using a wireless PDA and voice commands. The user can also draw in terrain features directly on a flat panel display. After integration, we trained the CECOM personnel in how to use the FOX system so they could conduct demonstrations for visitors at CECOM, and demonstrate the novel features of MIDAS made possible by the extensive R&D investments of the Federated Lab’s advanced technology program.
