Charles River Analytics, a developer of intelligent system solutions, announces new releases of Figaro™. Figaro is a probabilistic programming language that enables developers to create tools that help people make better decisions in the face of uncertainty. Figaro supports the development of rich probabilistic models and provides reasoning algorithms to draw useful conclusions from the available “noisy” evidence.
“Improvements in this latest release include more efficient inferences and a wider variety of learning algorithms,” explained Dr. Avi Pfeffer, developer of Figaro and principal scientist at Charles River. “For instance, Figaro now allows using factored algorithms like belief propagation on very large and infinite models using lazy factored inference.”
Figaro is free and is released under an open-source license. The latest version, 2.2.2.0, is available for Scala 2.10 and Scala 2.11 users. For more information or to download Figaro, visit www.cra.com/figaro.
