Charles River Analytics Inc., developer of intelligent systems solutions, announces a contract to build decision-support tools for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as part of continuing research and development for improving performance through effective teaming of humans and automation. Charles River will develop the Course of Action Analysis Support Tool, or COAST, in a two-year contract valued close to $1 million.
COAST provides planners with tools to rapidly construct scenarios, evaluate outcomes with a scalable, simulation framework, and perform comparative analyses to provide actionable recommendations. COAST is the latest Charles River effort that focuses on improving decision-making by understanding the trade-offs. The COAST effort adds to Charles River’s history of building numerous modeling and simulation efforts for the MDA, including the improvement of sensor fusion systems and real-time, sensor network optimization software.
