Meet scientists from Charles River Analytics, developer of intelligent systems solutions, at the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS). MHSRS is the only symposium focuses specifically on the unique medical needs of the Warfighter, and takes place at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL, from August 18 to 22, 2019. We are returning to MHSRS to share our recent developments in healthcare support and training.
MHSRS provides a scholarly forum for the development of future studies to optimize care for Warfighters. Held in a collaborative, joint setting, the MHSRS enables military medical care providers with combat experience to exchange information with the Department of Defense, as well as academic scientists and international partners on research and health care initiatives. These initiatives address a plethora of topic areas, such as Combat Casualty Care, Military Operational Medicine, Clinical and Rehabilitative Medicine, and Military Infectious Disease. MHSRS aims to foster research and communication among the military and researchers, and offers solutions for service-specific medical needs.

During the Training Effectiveness for Point of Injury Medical Care session, Dr. Bethany Bracken will present the “Monitoring, Extracting, and Decoding Indicators of Cognitive Workload (MEDIC), a hardware and software system to accurately assess cognitive workload during ecologically valid tasks.” The MEDIC system is designed to help assist military trainers by automatically sensing indicators of cognitive workload to augment performance observations, offering insight into factors underlying that performance.
