Charles River Analytics Inc., developer of intelligent systems solutions, proudly announces that Dr. Avi Pfeffer, our Chief Scientist, will deliver an invited keynote at the 22nd International Conference on Information Fusion 2019. The conference takes place in Ottawa, Canada, from July 2-5, 2019. Fusion 2019 brings together participants from academia, industry, and government to present technological innovations in the knowledge and data fusion domains. The 2019 conference seeks to advance and apply multidisciplinary methods to solve the most challenging problems in the field.
In his keynote, “Probabilistic Programming: Past, Present, and Future,” Dr. Pfeffer will discuss programming languages, such as Figaro™, an open-source probabilistic programming language developed by Dr. Pfeffer and his team. He will also describe Scruff™, his deep probabilistic cognitive architecture.
Dr. Pfeffer is the author of Practical Probabilistic Programming, which introduces readers to probabilistic programming and allows modelers without experience in machine learning to create rich, probabilistic modeling applications with Figaro.
Tameem Samawi, Software Engineer at Charles River Analytics, will also attend Fusion 2019 and present an accepted paper on Probabilistic Representation of Intent Commitments to Ensure Software Survival (PRINCESS). PRINCESS incorporates new advances in machine learning and probabilistic modeling to help build adaptable software systems so they can understand, learn, and adapt to changes.
In addition to expertise in the core technologies of machine learning and probabilistic modeling, our experience with systems integration, software engineering, and unmanned underwater vehicle platforms is pivotal on the PRINCESS effort. Learn more about PRINCESS in “Software Adaptation for an Unmanned Undersea,” a recently published article in the IEEE Software journal.
